About Carol Baynton Phelps

Internationally known artist and sculptor of dogs and horses who has
won several awards for her works. She began her art career at the age of 12 years. At the age of 27 years,
she traveled around the country establishing her reputation and fulfilling
many commissions.

She is very well known nationally for breeding and
showing champion collies, with her Halcaldee prefix, for over 35 years. This, and having lived a
good portion of her life in "Dog and Horse Country" in Maryland, has
influenced much of her works. She has been commissioned to do Trophies for several major national
dog and horse shows; as well as pieces of gold jewelry of many breeds.

Commissions and works by Carol are in the offices and homes of many
highly professional people in the Washington, DC metropolitan area as
well as throughout the US, Europe and Asia.

Even though her art work is best known for sporting art involving dogs
and horses, her talent is unlimited. Carol has had her art work recognized
by winning awards in the state of Virginia and elsewhere. She was most
recently recognized by being honored by one of her paintings being donated
by an internationally known collector and being accepted for permanent
display in the main gallery of the AKC National Dog Museum in St. Louis,
MO.

She was commissioned and did the Breed Standard Illustrations for Demlinger
Books on the Irish Terrier and the Shitz Zu written by George Kidd and
John Ferrante. Acknowledgements in both books commend her as "Artist
and Sculpture par Excellence".
Her commissions and works are in the homes and offices of many high profile professionals
and elected people in the Washington, DC area, all throughout the rest of the country and also
Europe, Asia and South America.
